Read the Red Letters: The Non-Negotiable Clause Most Christians Ignore at Their Own Peril

The most dangerous lie circulating in modern churches isn’t whispered by atheists. It’s shouted from the pews by people holding leather-bound Bibles.

It’s the comfortable, lazy illusion that you can harbor deep, poisonous hatred toward your neighbor, hold grudges like prized trophies, and still walk in lockstep with the Creator of the Universe.

Let’s stop playing pretend.

If you spend any time on Facebook, you see the exact same wreckage I do: professing Christians tearing each other apart with the kind of venom that would make a cutthroat street politician blush. Bibles in their bios, malice in their comments.

It’s sad. It’s grotesque. And frankly, it’s terrifying.

Because while everyone is busy being hyper-religious, almost nobody is being obedient.

The Delusion of “Selective Religion”

Here is the brutal truth most pastors are too timid to tell you from the pulpit because they’re afraid of hurting the building fund: You do not get to pick and choose which parts of God’s Word apply to your personal feuds.

We all miss the mark. We all stumble. Perfection isn’t the standard here—honesty and obedience are. But there is a massive, eternal difference between falling short and actively waging war against the very God you claim to serve.

When you nurse a grudge, when you validate your bitterness, when you unleash hate online under the guise of “standing for truth,” you aren’t defending God.

You are fighting Him.

Read the Fine Print Before It’s Too Late

In the business world, ignoring the fine print on a contract will bankrupt you. In the spiritual world, ignoring a clear red-letter directive will cost you everything.

Jesus did not stutter, mince words, or leave room for theological loop-holes when He laid out the terms:

“If you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Heavenly Father forgive you yours.”

He didn’t add a clause for “unless they really offended you.” He didn’t leave a caveat for “unless it happened on social media.” He didn’t offer a discount for long-time church members.

He meant exactly what He said. It is a direct, transactional reality. Unforgiveness on your end blocks forgiveness on His end. Period.

The Choice in Front of You

You can keep playing church. You can keep collecting spiritual badges, posting holy quotes, and feeling superior while your heart rot continues to spread.

Or you can wake up to the cold, hard reality of where you actually stand.

If you are carrying hate today, you are playing a high-stakes game with your own soul—and you are losing. Strip away the religious excuses. Stop hiding behind your tradition.

Drop the grudge. Forgive the debt. Get right with God before time runs out.
